Clubs in England and Scotland monitoring Larne manager Tiernan Lynch

Reports from Northern Ireland and here in Scotland state that David Healy is set to turn down the opportunity to become the next manager of Raith Rovers to remain at Linfield.

However, that is not the only interest being shown in a leading NIFL Premiership manager.

It is my understanding that Larne manager Tiernan Lynch is being closely monitored by clubs in the EFL including Blackpool who currently have a vacancy.

Lynch has also been on the radar of Raith Rovers who may consider an approach for him given that David Healy remains committed to Linfield.

The 44 year old has led Larne to back to back NIFL Premiership titles and is only one game away from taking the Inver Park club into the group phase of the UEFA Conference League.

Larne face Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar on Thursday in the second leg of the Conference League playoff round.

They trail 2-1 on aggregate heading into the second leg where they have home advantage at Inver Park.

No side from the NIFL Premiership team has ever qualified for group stage European football so the stakes could not be higher.
