The biggest deadline day deals in the SPFL

Transfer deadline day turned out to be busy for a few clubs in the Scottish Premiership.

We had a look at the most high profile moves in and out of clubs made in time for the deadline.

Celtic welcome three new signings

On the final day of the transfer window, Celtic secured the signings of three new players. Arne Engels was the most notable addition, arriving from FC Augsburg for a club record fee of £11 million.

He was followed by defender Auston Trusty and Dundee’s Luke McCowan who also joined the Champions on deadline day.

Meanwhile, two players departed, with Mikey Johnston making a permanent move to West Bromwich Albion and Tomoki Iwata heading to Birmingham City.

Rangers make double swoop

Rangers bolstered their defense by securing a loan deal for Neraysho Kasanwirjo from Feyenoord, which includes an option to make the move permanent next summer.

Additionally, the Ibrox club successfully signed Nedim Bajrami from Italian club Sassuolo.

Motherwell add signings 16 and 17 of the summer

Motherwell completed their 16th and 17th signings of the summer transfer window, bringing back Jack Vale on loan from Blackburn Rovers after his stint at Fir Park in the latter part of the 2023/24 season. They also secured Jair Tavares on a season-long loan from Hibernian.

Long serving Flynn departs St Mirren

Ryan Flynn departed St. Mirren after a six-year stay at the Paisley club. The 35-year-old made the move to Scottish Championship side Arbroath on deadline day.

Cantwell and Wright swap Rangers for EFL clubs

Scott Wright has ended his time at Ibrox by signing for Birmingham City. Also departing Glasgow is Todd Cantwell, who made the switch to Blackburn Rovers.
