Football fans are in for a treat as an exciting charity match in support of Alzheimer Scotland is set to take place on Sunday, 2nd March at the Falkirk Stadium, with kick-off at 1pm.
This special fixture will see Scotland take on the Rest of the World, led by two legendary managers—Graeme Souness at the helm for Scotland and Mixu Paatelainen leading the Rest of the World team.
The event is being organised by Dundee FC assistant manager Stuart Taylor.
Ahead of the event, Taylor stated that “Alzheimer Scotland played a big part in my dad’s journey with dementia before he passed away in 2021. My family and I wanted to give something back to the charity and the game seemed the obvious way to raise funds and raise awareness too.”
A host of well-known names from football and beyond will take to the pitch for a fantastic cause.
Stars such as Frank McAvennie, Steve Archibald, James McArthur, James McFadden, Allan MacGregor, Stephen Ward, Dave Edwards, Stephen Hunt, and Lee Naylor will showcase their skills.
Joining them will be personalities like actor Sanjeev Kohli, actor David Brophy, former basketball star Kieron Achara, and heavyweight boxer Martin Bakole, ensuring a thrilling and entertaining match.
The event aims to raise crucial funds for Alzheimer Scotland, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by dementia. Their work provides essential care, resources, and research funding to improve the lives of those living with the condition.
This charity match is more than just a game—it’s an opportunity for the football community to come together in support of an important cause. Whether you’re a football enthusiast or simply want to contribute to a great charity, this promises to be an unforgettable day.
