Mar Hall, May 9 — Footballing legend Duncan Ferguson held the launch of his long-awaited autobiography last night at the grand Mar Hall Hotel, delivering a night filled with nostalgia, humour, and heartfelt reflections on a career that’s been anything but ordinary.
“It’s all in the book. The good, the bad, and everything in between,” Ferguson told the packed crowd. “You just have to look at both of my managerial jobs so far. I took on probably two of the hardest jobs around but I never shy away from a challenge. I hope people see that.”
The event drew a large crowd of football fans from across the country, many of whom have followed Ferguson’s journey from his early days at Dundee United through to his iconic spells at Rangers and Everton.
As he took to the stage, the audience hung on his every word, captivated by tales from the pitch and beyond – including his much-publicised stint in Barlinnie prison, a chapter he didn’t shy away from.
Ferguson’s former Rangers and Scotland teammate and broadcasting favourite Ally McCoist was in attendance to support his old friend, bringing warmth and laughter to the evening.

As the night drew to a close, one thing was clear: Ferguson’s legacy is not only cemented in the minds of fans but now also on the page – raw, honest, and unmistakably Big Dunc.
The book – titled ‘Big Dunc’ – charts Ferguson’s unique path through football, offering insights into his explosive playing style, deep loyalty to Everton, and his post-playing career as a coach. Yet it’s more than just an ordinary sports autobiography- it’s a story of redemption, passion, and a man who’s always worn his heart on his sleeve.
