Scottish football fans are set for a special day of action and purpose as Alzheimer Scotland brings a star-studded charity match to Broadwood Stadium this April.
The ‘Shooting Stars’ Charity Football Match will take place on 12 April 2026, with gates opening at 11am and kick-off at 1pm. The event combines entertaining football with a powerful message of making sure nobody faces dementia alone.
The match will see Scotland take on a Rest of the World side, with the Scotland team managed by former Rangers FC and national team boss Alex McLeish.
A strong lineup of former professionals has already been confirmed, including Charlie Adam, Nacho Novo, Lee McCulloch, Jim Goodwin, John Sutton, José Quitongo and Junior Mendes. Supporters can expect a competitive and entertaining contest featuring a mix of fan favourites.
Adding to the occasion, several well-known faces from sport and television will also take part. These include professional boxer David Brophy, actors Stephen Purdon and Robin Laing from River City, and Sanjeev Kohli and Matt Costello from Still Game. The mix of footballers and celebrities should help create a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.
There will also be activities for families throughout the stadium, making it a full day out for supporters of all ages. Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, while under-18s can attend for free. All attendees must have a ticket, and with strong interest expected, fans are encouraged to secure theirs early.
Whether attending for the football, the entertainment or to support an important cause, this event promises to be a memorable day at Broadwood.
